Janice Mack Talcott
Janice Mack Talcott has over 40 years as a professional in the jewelry industry. She taught thousands of students as an instructor with GIA for over 12 years. During that time, she initiated the Doorstep Program for Home Study students, co-developed the Penlight Technique of Gem Identification and chaired the development of the GIA Colored Gemstone Grading System. In her 3 years as Director of Education, she oversaw most of GIA’s growing international operations.
Janice is a writer and editor and has been instrumental in course development for GIA, AGS, DCA and Hearts On Fire. She has been published in all major trade journals. She has presented on many topics all over the world.
Born into the retail jewelry business, Janice has experience with family issues, partner issues and all aspects of sales, management, merchandising and operations in closely held businesses. She has created fundamental tools for both staff and business development.
Since 2010, Janice has been an independent consultant and trainer. Her recorded webinars on sales training, management development, clienteling, and leadership are widely popular.
